Testing methodology

Rankings on this site are editorial scores, not lab certificates. We measure real page load times from multiple locations (with emphasis on US cities), track uptime over weeks, open support tickets to evaluate response quality, and check migration tools, control panels and pricing transparency.

What we score

• Performance testing — speed and uptime from more than one US metro when the host offers a US node.
• Security reviews — SSL, firewalls, malware protection, backup policy.
• Support evaluation — response times, knowledge base, whether escalation exists.
• US fit — data-center cities, English support hours, billing in USD.

What we do not do

We do not sell the #1 slot. We may earn a commission from some outbound links. Paid placements, if they ever appear, are labeled. We review both well-known brands and lesser-known providers after a testing cycle — not because a sales deck arrived.
